Horizon's Cafe sits quietly inside the ConocoPhillips Building in downtown Anchorage, making it a practical stop for anyone working nearby or passing through the area. Its atmosphere leans toward casual and no-frills, with seating largely shared in the building’s lobby, which can feel more like a laid-back office break spot than a bustling restaurant.

The menu is straightforward, focusing on American comfort food with solid offerings like burgers, sandwiches, and a handful of quesadillas. Portion sizes tend to be generous, and the prices are reasonable given the downtown location. Breakfast options, particularly the breakfast burrito, get frequent mentions from regulars who appreciate a quick and satisfying start to the day. Coffee is simple but dependable, fitting for those grabbing a quick Americano or pairing their meal with a hot drink.

The vibe is shaped largely by locals who use the cafe as a routine midday or morning stop: office employees looking for fast, cheerful service and a filling meal without fuss. The kitchen staff’s friendly and outgoing nature adds a bit of warmth to what might otherwise be just another office building eatery. Early visitors, especially those wanting fresh salads or sandwiches, should arrive sooner rather than later since popular items tend to run out as the day goes on.

Overall, Horizon’s Cafe is best suited for those who need a straightforward, no-hassle meal in downtown Anchorage — think a quick lunch break, a simple breakfast, or a casual meet-up spot. It isn’t a place to linger for a long dining experience, but it reliably delivers the basics with enough heart to keep people coming back.

Smaller menu... primarily salads, soup, sandwiches and burgers, but it is tasty and enjoyable food at a decent price point. Located inside the ConocoPhillips Building, so some informal dining space is available in the rather large lobby area.

This is a little cafe in the bottom of an office building but I had a nice little breakfast sandwich and a yummy Americano. People working here were super nice. This is a great spot if you just need to grab a quick meal.

This place is awesome! They have modest prices and generous portions. The cook, Malcolm, is the BEST! Fast & friendly! He is as important as the food. I drive across town - whenever I can - just to start my day off great! The breakfast burrito ($6) is my "go to" favorite but I don't think you can go wrong no matter what you order.

Great place to grab a salad or sandwich. I haven't tried their hot food. If you want a salad go early, it gets picked over pretty quickly.

Best healthy meal / price ratio in downtown Anchorage. Food is almost always above 8 out of 10 and the prices cannot be beat within 5 miles. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the selection is varied. A favorite lunchtime joint of downtown workers. ***UPDATE 07/20/22: Prices have gone up $2-4 on everything, but so has the entire world. Still a great value for downtown. Only thing I would shy away from is breakfast. Powdered eggs leave you sad.***

Just grabbed a quick breakfast from this establishment, and I was blown away! The quality and the quantity for the price is a STEAL. It is a small cafeteria style cafe in a large business building, but don’t let the atmosphere fool you. This place is a gem. The chef, Malcolm, was too cool. He was very welcoming and friendly. He had a great attitude and the man gets down on the grill/griddle. I ordered a build your own breakfast burrito, with bacon and jalapeños, and it was hands down one the best I’ve ever had. The tortilla was even grill to delicious texture. If and when we’re back in Anchorage, we’ll definitely be back. Thank you again, Malcolm!
